  • Total of 4 Grade 12 Academic Courses (English 12 + 3 more) with a 70% average. Note that English 12 is required for academic entry.

Note: For U1 admission, students from countries in which the primary language and the language of instruction is English do not need to provide additional proof of English language proficiency. Students should provide a letter from the school to state that their school is an English-medium school.

Question 1.  What is the U1 program?

The U1 program is a one-year undergraduate program through a partnership between Kingdom Citizens’ Pavilion Schools, Jos, Nigeria and Trinity Western University, Langley, Canada. Through the U1 program, you are guaranteed admission into the second year of University Education in Trinity Western University, Langley, Canada.

Question 2.  What can I study after the U1 program?

After the U1 program, you can be admitted into Year II of any of the following programs with Trinity Western University:

  • Business

  • Leadership

  • Sports and Leisure Management

  • Corporate Communications

  • Humanities

  • Psychology

  • Social Science

  • History

  • Computing Science

  • English

  • TESOL

  • Music/Acting

Question 3. How long would the program run?

The U1 program runs for 12 months comprising of two semesters. There are a total of 36 credit hours in the program.

Question 4.  How much does the U1 program cost?

The U1 program costs $350.00 per credit hour. With 36 credit hours, the entire course costs $12,600.00.

Question 5. Can I get financial aid while in the program?

Yes, there are financial aid options, however, you have to be in the program before you can access financial aid. Also, the option of financial aid is available on the merit of outstanding academic performance.

Question 6. Can U1 guarantee scholarship opportunities and financial aids?

Yes, after the U1 program, you can access a wide variety of Scholarships and financial aids from through Trinity Western University with recommendations based on your performance in the U1 academic program.

Question 7.  Is admission for my preferred course of study after the U1 program automatic?

Except for cases of gross negligence on the part of the student or dismal academic performance, the U1 program is one of the best guarantees of a private Canadian University education. Once you are admitted to the U1 program, you are already a student of Trinity Western University in Canada!

Question 8. Do I have to come to Jos to undergo the U1 program?

With the provision of fully equipped smart classrooms in the FAR canter in Jos, students are encouraged to come over to Jos for the exciting experience of the program. However, students all over the world can participate in the U1 program from the comfort of their homes as long as they are disciplined enough to be in class (online) and complete all the requirements to move to year 2 in Canada.

Question 9.  What are the requirements for the U1 program?

The major requirements for the U1 admission is an evidence of completion of Secondary school (High School) such as WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results. Also, academic transcripts, academic reference letters can give you an advantage.
